Origin Story

The first ideas for Josiah Marr Consulting were sparked by the needs of schools and school leaders during the COVID-19 pandemic. While I was working at the International Christian School in Hong Kong SAR, schools in Canada and Thailand reached out about school policy and curriculum. These experiences grew into a passion for supporting schools and school leaders. 

Finding a Passion

Since then, I have pursued a Doctorate in International Educational Leadership & Policy at the University of Toronto. During the program I found a niche while reflecting on my experience working within the incredible school culture at the International Community School, Bangkok. I realized that my skills are best suited to partner with schools to build thriving school cultures. My doctoral research examined what leaders do to impact international school culture. From this research I created a resource for school leaders to improve their school culture. The resource is used as a launchpad for coaching, leadership team sessions, workshops, and more.

I expand my expertise by visiting leading international schools, learning from their leaders, and discovering what sets their cultures apart.
